Yellow bird is my first mixed media art.

I was inspired by mixed media artists I found online and thought to give it a try.

I found this style liberating and fun to do.

Just some random splash of paint then go along with whatever i thought that suit the color scheme I come up with.

Mixed media is done using graphite and poster paint on paper and finished it in 2 hours.  Yellow bird was based on random birds I found in Google and drawn freehand.

Looking forward to make more of this.

Hope you’ll like it.

Doodle Thursday: Abstract Art no. 1 ( Texture no. 4)

“I am searching for abstract ways of expressing reality, abstract forms that will enlighten my own mystery.”

– Eric Cantona

Doodle thursday: texture no. 4 practice patience, drawn last nov. 30- dec. 4, 2014 using pencil, black and red faber castell ballpoint pens on paper.

This abstract art was made to test and practice my patience towards the world around me. This concept have been a personal challenge to myself when I was in junior high school level. I made this doodle challenge to keep myself from thinking too much and entertain myself while there’s nothing to do during class hours. Before, my outline was done while I’m closing my eyes believing to communicate and understanding the state of my subconscious.

This doodle was drawn last Nov. 30 – Dec. 4, 2014, using  pencil for the outline, faber-castell ballpoint pens colored black and red on paper. This was one of my WIP (work in progress) art. If interested, feel free to check it out. Here is the link.

Enjoy!

This doodle is one of my work-in-progress (WIP) art.

This doodle is drawn using pencil, and ballpoint pen on paper.

My toddler companion helped me with my outline before the shading. She loves drawing swirls, scribbles and coloring, so I let her enjoy scribbling the outlines.

The outline was made without thinking. Then fill the spaces with color in alternating manner. Make sure no spaces are shaded relatively near each other. The shading process must be light and gentle to avoid markings on the back side of the paper or puncture the paper due to too much pressure.

If you wish to see the finish product of this doodle, here’s the link.

Doodle Thursday: Leaf Texture 2

“Autumn is the second spring when every leaf is a flower.” – Albert Camus

2nd Doodle Thursday: Leaf texture (2) pentagon

2nd Doodle Thursday: Leaf texture (2) pentagon

This drawing is done today Nov. 27,2014, using pencil on paper. This is inspired from the leaves  I found in my backyard. I used the shapes I found in the leaves for my leaf texture drawings.  Last drawing I made for doodle thursday was leaf texture using any four-sided polygon. Now I use five sided polygon. Somewhat like a pentagon but the length of each side may or may not be the same size.

This  doodle is easy to make, only it takes time to make and presence of mind to make sure each polygon is five-sided.

Anybody can try drawing this. Just send me a link of your work in the comment section below when you do.

ENJOY!

Doodle Thursday was introduce to me by a friend to draw any doodle of any medium in any form and style every thursday. This is my first entry entitled “Leaf Texture”. Obviously, this is inspired by the texture of the leaves yet only uses four-sided polygon to create the texture or can be made a pattern. This doodle is done today, November 21,2014, using pencil, paper and eraser only in 10 minutes.
